Description

Unique opportunity: Completely Refit and Update on 1968 Alberg 30 Voyager Edition hull #342. Refit began in 2015 and completed end of 2017. Vessel purchased from the Owner after update in 2021

Hull Updates

 

Hull and Bottom:

 

Solid fiberglass hull with no blisters evident

  • Inboard gas engine & prop shaft fittings were removed, aperture filled and Nissan 9.8 HP motor in tilt-up outboard well in lazarette for snag free sailing and less drag. (Sails right over crab traps and nets) The tilt-up outboard well has sliding boards to cover the shaft slot.
  • 2 Coats of PETIT TRINIDAD ANTI FOUL PAINT and 1 coat HYDROCOAT ABLATIVE PAINT NOVEMBER 2021
  • All five seacocks replaced 2017
  • Bilge Areas Resealed with epoxy/fiberglass
  • Drogue chain plates installed on transom
  • Replaced bow rubbing strake

 

Deck

 

DECK:

  •  Every fastener and fitting has been replaced or removed and rebidded during refit. Exterior teak trim including cockpit comings, varnished in 2021
  • Original wood toe rail was replaced with an aluminum toe rail, less maintenance and reinforced hull/deck joint with thru bolts.
  • 10” mooring cleats
  • Lewmar Ocean 60 forward hatch provides good ventilation (increased size over old hatch.
  • External mounted 3/8-inch tinted acrylic deadlights
  • 2 Lewmar self-tailing sheet winches in cockpit
  • 1×19 stainless steel lifelines
  • Seahood, dodger, and Bimini on 1” stainless tubing.
  • Acrylic companion was drop boards with stainless steel tracks and security bar.

4 Stroke Engine

 

Engine: inboard atomic 4 removed, transmission, prop shaft, fuel tank, instruments, and engine beds all removed, a tilt up enclosed outboard well in lazarette was installed.

  • Motor is a 2008 4-stroke 9.8 HP Nissan, extra long shaft, hi thrust prop
  • Manageable size while still having enough power to drive the boat at 6 knots
  • Innovative design has been tested offshore and works remarkably well
  • Four 3 gallon gas tanks that go in tilt up well
  • Engine spares include: new prop, spare carb, fuel filter, and water pump repair kit
