About
Incredible MaxZ86 yacht, originally MORNING GLORY. With full CBTF technology (canting keel), she has a recent refit and standing rigging under her belt. She is ready for her next owner.
Construction
Hull, Deck & Superstructure Construction:
- Built entirely of carbon fiber and has an extremely flat and narrow hull, a canting keel and two rudders, one in the bow and one aft.
- The yacht has a weight of 21 tons, of which almost half is in the keel.
- The centerboard is movable, and the angle is set by a hydraulic device max 52 degrees.
- Forward canard can be operated independently or connected to the rudder – both modes are possible. 3 modes on panel to wheel. Canard is not forward of retractable rudder.
- Materials:
- SP Carbon fiber laminates.
- Nomex cores.
- Core-cell structural foam in high-load areas.
- SE 84 Pre-preg laminates.
- Vinyl wrap.
Keel & Rudder:
Keel Service – January to July 2021:
- Torque checked all the keel bolts inside the boat.
- Top keel cover was opened.
- Complete check of all the keel seals.
- Keel position sensor was replaced.
Machinery
Engine & Gearboxes:
- 1 x Yanmar 4LHA-HTP 118kW @ 3,300rpm.
- The engine room is tidy; hydraulic and other rubber pipes are properly protectred and fixed.
- PTO can use all positions like grind, but for rating current owners use grind.
Maintenance & Performance:
- Engine Hours: 2,670.
- Maximum Speed: under sail – 30+ knots, under engine 9.2 knots.
August 2021:
- Complete service of the engine (oil, filters, belts, zincs…).
- Fuel tank and complete system was cleaned and checked.
- New water pump.
- New alternator bracket and pulley.
October 2021:
- Changed all exhaust pipes and new exhaust muffler.
2022:
- Extensive overhaul of engine and hydraulic oil cooling system (2022).
- New alternator brackets (2022).
- New Paguro 3.5kW generator (2022).
2023:
- Regular engine service (2023).
- New pulleys and belt on drive unit (2023).
- New alternator bracket (2023).
- New start battery (2023).
- Hydraulic system check (2023).
- New hydraulic oil filters (2023).
- Full change of hydraulic oil (2023).
Propulsion & Steering:
- Yacht wheels and pedestals in carbon. The vessel has two rudders, one on the bow before the centerboard and one on the stern.
Other Mechanical Equipment:
Hydraulic Service – August 2021:
- All the hydraulic rams except the canting keel rams and the propeller shaft up and down ram were taken out of the boat.
- The rams that were taken out underwent a full service with new seals, ram polishing and filled with new CO2 for the return.
- Keel rams were checked inside the boat and some of the valve and plugs sealings were changed because of small leaks.
- All the pipes and connections were checked for leaks.
- Complete service and tuning of the Navtec valves that are fitted on deck.
- Complete and thorough test of all components when the boat was in the water.
October 2021:
- New sealings on the emergency Navtec pump that is connected to the grinders driveshaft.
